the thing I love about this image is the fact that this image shows a scene of love by a soldier of the Soviet Union people the United States of America demonized. this photo illustrates how everyone is human even your enemy. This humanizing of your enemy was rare during times of war but is always nice to see. because it can help to understand both sides of a conflict of you see both sides a humans.
the composition of the photo is simple but effective, the subject of the photograph, the soldier is directly in the center of the frame and his face is nicely in focus. The baby he is holding, assumed to be his is obviously not paying to attention to the photographer possibly showing how vigilant the soldier is. The contrast of the soldiers dark outfit and his light background helps make the faces of our subjects pop and become more visible. I also like the slight use of lines and reflection behind the soldier to make the photo a little more interesting.
